Program Management
To ensure satisfaction, every customer is assigned a Program Manager to guide a project from quote to part approval. Our Program Managers are all experienced toolmakers or engineers with many years in the industry. They lead a cross-functional team through the Advanced Planning Quality Process (APQP). They examine every aspect of a project to assure accuracy and provide program support from launch to the end of the product lifecycle.
Design/Engineering
Innovation is fundamental to our organization; our engineers use the latest 2-D and 3-D software to produce premium results. Each new part is analyzed for formability characteristics prior to initiating the design. Our engineers work with the customer to resolve any manufacturing concerns identified in the formability analysis so the project timeline is maintained. Our team can also provide Rapid Prototyping in the early stages for pre-production builds or stack-up validation.
Tool and Die
Our fully capable tool room specializes in manufacturing and maintaining precision progressive dies. Thanks to years of combined experience in building progressive dies, fixtures, machines, in-die assembly and automated secondary process tooling, our journeymen toolmakers emphasize old-world craftsmanship and attention to detail with new production technology.
Stamping
Waukesha Tool & Stamping has 23 stamping presses—ranging from 2.5 to 600 tons with bed sizes up to 120 inches and speeds up to 400 strokes per minute. Specializing in automated precision progressive dies, feed capability ranges from 0.008 to 0.375 inch thick materials with coil widths up to 50 inches and weights to 15,000 pounds. We have developed our own unique advanced die sensor technology program to mistake-proof dies and provide automation opportunities including in-die assembly, in-die welding and in-die measurement.
Assembly and Secondary Processes
While we are focused on in-die processes, certain projects do not warrant the investment or are not conducive to in-die processing. We perform a full compliment of secondary processes including assembly, welding, riveting, tapping and machining. Through a well managed supply chain we are able to provide finishing services including plating, painting, anodizing, phosphate, degreasing and heat-treating.
Quality Assurance
Our quality system is certified to TS 16949 and ISO 9001:2000 standards. Our quality lab is anchored by experienced engineers and technicians who utilize the latest technology to validate our processes. The extensive equipment/instrumentation includes a Zeiss Contura Coordinate Measuring Machine, numerous optical comparators and various specific gauges. Our quality team is instrumental in the completion of FEMA and PPAP documents, capability studies, gage R&R, flow charts, histograms and other documentation.
